2017 NFL Scouting combine: 10 DE participants to watch for the Dallas Cowboys
8 of 10
Jordan Willis, Kansas State (6’4″, 255)
Kansas State’s Jordan Willis is a name that I’m surprised we don’t hear more of in this deep DE 2017 draft class. He’s not exactly a flashy player, but does just about everything pretty well.
Willis plays every single down through the whistle and his motor is something that Rod Marinelli will absolutely fall in love with. He is more of a stack-and-shed edge defender and he needs a little bit more work with his hands as a pass rusher. He could also stand to be a little bit more creative with his pass rush moves, but that could come in time with more development.
He’s likely not a day one starter, but would probably be a good rotational player for the Cowboys as a rookie. Of course, all he did at Kansas State was make plays and that is one of the reasons I will be watching him closely at the NFL combine.
