5 things to know before your fantasy draft

Jason Ramirez

5. Have your poker face ready

Whether you’re doing a live or online draft, what you say can hurt or help you.

For example, if someone at your draft party asks, “What do you guys think of Gronk?” I’m horrible at lying so I’m keeping my mouth shut, but if you’re good at it … “eeeeh big risk”. Also, if you like a player and your pick is coming up, don’t be dumb enough to click on or say his name.

I think Justin Hunter is a big break out candidate. I saw his name as my pick in the 11th round was coming up in a draft last week and I was stupid enough to click on him. The pick right before me said, “Damn, I don’t know who to take” and then glanced over at my screen and took Hunter.

I can’t even blame him though; it’s a long poker game gentleman, remember that.

Did you draft a monster? Tell me about it. Which tip was most valuable for you?

  1. Really wish I would have read this before I drafted this morning. Passed on Rudolph for not knowing much about him. Did manage to get Romo and Seahawks D though. Good read bro.
