Kellen Moore Activated, Terrell McClain Hits IR, Practice Squad Changes

Another day another roster move for the Dallas Cowboys, as the team activated Kellen Moore to serve as the backup QB until Matt Cassel joins the team and has some time to learn the playbook.

Of course, Moore is already familiar with Scott Linehan’s system from Detroit.

While the QB situation appears to be resolved, Rod Marinelli had yet another move along his defensive line – as the team placed Terrell McClain to the injured reserve due to his toe injury suffered against the Eagles.

This allowed the team to resign Gus Johnson to the practice squad, a fan favorite throughout the preseason.

Johnson will have an even tougher time seeing the active roster, as Christine Michael expects to be the next guy up at the short-yardage running back position.

To add more depth along the line, the team brought back prospect Efe Obada. It will be interesting to see if he ever finds his way onto the active roster, which could depend on Garrett’s plan with the quarterbacks moving forward.

If available, Obada is certainly a piece that Marinelli would love to work with – as the Cowboys defense hopes to continue playing at such a high level.
