Cowboys Game Day Prediction: Cowboys Come Out Victorious

Shane Denney

If there are two things that I have learned over time, it’s to expect the unexpected and that almost everyone loves to take a stab at a prediction every now and then; some even like to take it a step further — like RJ and his Bold Predictions.

And if you want to ever make a prediction of your own, you almost have to start with #SmoothView Game Preview — it takes an in-depth look at all the game’s key matchups.

Without further ado, here is mine for this week’s matchup against the Patriots.

A lot of people have written off the Cowboys for this week and my belief is that everyone’s going to get quite a surprise. The Cowboys will open the game guns a blazin’ (sorry I had to) and they are going to have the lead at the end of the first quarter. I’m guessing something like 10-7.

The Patriots will, of course, rally in the second quarter to take the game into halftime all tied up —  17-17.

The Patriots will maintain their momentum coming out of the third quarter. Rob Gronkowski will catch his only touchdown of the game, and the third will end with the Pats clinging onto a 24-20 lead.

Then, the fourth quarter begins. The fresh legs of Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain will help lead the Cowboys defense to hold the Patriots scoreless in the fourth quarter. Brandon Weeden finally shows why the Cowboys trust him as their backup QB, and will lead the Boys down the field for the game winning score. Cowboys defeat the Patriots 27-24.

Even though I think that the Cowboys will win each and every game they play, if they lose this week, I promise to never predict them to win again since I will have thrown a shutout in both weeks.
