These are dark times for Dallas Cowboys fans.
The NFC East has been begging for someone, anyone, to take a hold of it through 11 weeks of the 2015 season. So far it’s been treated like a hot potato.
After another implosion on Thanksgiving the Philadelphia Eagles sit at 4-7 on the season. With a chance to put ourselves in the drivers’ seat for the first time this season, our Dallas Cowboys had a similar implosion that left us little to no remains after the loss of Tony Romo for the rest of the season and a loss to the Carolina Panthers… putting us at 3-8 on the year.
The other half of the NFC East will be playing each other tomorrow when the New York Giants travel to our nation’s capital for a dance with the Washington Redskins. The G-Men (5-5) have a chance to put their foot on the throats of the rest of the division considering Washington (4-6) would be significantly trailing should New York pull this off.
This season has completely set itself up for the Giants to claim the NFC East title. The Dallas Cowboys have been ravaged by injuries, the Philadelphia Eagles have Chip Kelly for a coach, and the Redskins have been themselves. It’s a testament to how bad the Giants truly are that it is still a race at this point.
Tom Coughlin has delivered when on the hot seat before, and if the Redskins find a way to pull out this win then the temperature is going to turn up once again.
I am eternal optimist so forgive me when I say that with a Redskins victory the Dallas Cowboys would still only be two games back of first place in the division… leaving them a modicum of an opportunity to win it.
We’ve watched 11 weeks worth of football for all of it to potentially come down to 60 minutes tomorrow. Things will be pretty much set with a Giants victory, but if Washington pulls it out the whole division will stay relatively relevant for that much longer. Go Redskins… I guess.
Ugh.
