A story that will likely go under the radar for the 4-12 Dallas Cowboys was the near full-season play of linebacker Sean Lee. A finally healthy Lee played in 14 games, recording a career-high in tackles.
There is no question that Rod Marinelli’s defense is completely different with and without Lee on the field, and having him out there most of the time for 2015 led the Cowboys to an impressive defensive performance – wasted by the offensive play of Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel, and Kellen Moore.
However, a story that did get some attention out of the Cowboys week 17 loss was Lee, on his own power, taking himself out of the game after warmups – and in turn losing a $2 million contract escalator.

What is important to Lee is what is important to many big faces around the Cowboys organization – winning a Super Bowl in the near future. Lee, deservingly so, took off against the Redskins and can now focus on making this Super Bowl dream possible in 2016.
So here’s to Sean Lee, a very bright spot from an otherwise dark season of Dallas Cowboys football.
