Dallas Cowboys Agree To Terms With Rolando McClain

RJ Ochoa

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back one of their own for the 2016 season.

Rolando McClain has reached a deal to stay with America’s Team. Huzzah!

This is a gigantic move for the Cowboys in a lot of ways.

Obviously we get to keep Rolando at the middle linebacker spot, which allows Sean Lee to remain at the weakside spot, but now we have a little insight as to where the team might be leaning come the NFL Draft.

The team was rumored to be in the mix for UCLA LB Myles Jack, but with Rolando firmly in the middle of the defense that option seems unlikely now.

Rolando signed a one-year deal just a year ago, so this whole process feels like deja vu for all parties involved. McClain missed the first four games of last season due to a suspension, but it seems like he’s finally turning things around and focusing on football.

This has become quite the turnaround story for McClain who has resurrected his career in Dallas after short stints in Oakland and Baltimore. The former first-round pick out of Alabama has a supreme amount of talent, it just took a team like the Cowboys to show some proper faith in him for it to all work together the way that it has.

In other news the Cowboys are bringing in former Rams pass rusher Chris Long for a visit. Now that they’ve shored up Rolando the focus on the defensive side of the ball is clearly getting after the quarterback, and Long might just be able to help with that.

For now sit back and celebrate Rolando McClain wearing the Star for another season!
