The 2016 Dallas Cowboys, as things stand currently, are in desperate need of leaders and proven performers on the defensive side of the ball. When on the field, Orlando Scandrick is undoubtedly one of those players for the Cowboys’ secondary.
After missing all of 2015 with a torn ACL, Scandrick is ready to return to the field and join the likes of fellow veterans Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr. I wrote recently about how this unit could be a very welcome strength for Rod Marinelli’s defense this season, and Scandrick is certainly expecting big things from himself entering his eighth season.
On Tuesday, Orlando Scandrick took to Instagram to provide a simple update on his recovery process leading up to training camp.
Scandrick is indeed back in the Cowboys’ plans for 2016, and that should excite Cowboys fans everywhere. With the versatility to cover in the slot or on the outside, Scandrick will do his part in helping the Cowboys try to win the NFC East – by slowing down dynamic play makers like the Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie Sterling Shepard, along with Redskins’ targets DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and first-round pick Josh Doctson.
Orlando’s injury a year ago in training camp only led to more and more injuries that washed away the Cowboys’ 2015 season. With the entire organization zoned in for 2016, and the team getting healthier by the day, some big things could be on the way in Dallas.
Welcome back Orlando Scandrick. Hurry up, football.
Orlando, it''s time for BEAST MODE come out of you this season. Have the defense ready to stop at NOTHING. We need your leadership for all the players on defense. Proof the nay sayers wrong. FIGHTTOTHEFINISH!!
