Just over two weeks ago, it was reported that Michael Irvin – the exuberant NFL Network studio host and former three time Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys – could be leaving the network as a “free agent” to possibly fill some recent voids left on the ESPN Monday Night Football team.
Instead, confirmation came through on Wednesday that Irvin will stay with NFLN per a verbal agreement.
Confirmed: @michaelirvin88 has re-upped with @nflnetwork to work studio. Had been speculation he might be headed elsewhere.

The always passionate Playmaker will be back in the studio talking football for the world to hear all week long during the season. Come as soon as week 1, maybe he can give us another segment as fiery as this one, when Irvin took to the podium to defend Tony Romo following his game winning drive to open the season against the Giants.
Dallas is opening their season once again at home against New York, so be sure to pay close attention to what the Cowboys’ Hall of Fame WR has to say after the game.
