RJOShow E29: NFL Films Feature Producer Chris Weaver Talks Cowboys Projects

RJ Ochoa

Wednesdays in August typically mean one thing for hardcore NFL fans – the morning after another great episode of Hard Knocks.

The second episode this season (which features the Los Angeles Rams) chronicled more of the experience that is being a Ram (one that Cowboys Nation wants no part of). Within the 60 minutes cut up by NFL Films was a healthy dosage of Dallas Cowboys football as the Rams hosted America’s Team in their preseason opener and return to Los Angeles last Saturday night.

I had the privilege of speaking with one of the Feature Producers from NFL Films that helped do some of the cutting on the final product that ultimately graced your screens on this week’s episode of the RJOShow – Chris Weaver.

The world of NFL Films encompasses far more than their annual Hard Knocks series, and Chris was kind enough to lend a peek behind the curtain on some other projects – primarily ones regarding the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL Films will air their sixth season of their famed A Football Life series this fall, and among the stellar list of people being profiled lies Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame Quarterback Troy Aikman. Chris Weaver is doing extensive work on this specific project so he expands on it quite a bit during the episode.

This is an episode of the RJOShow that all Dallas Cowboys fans will greatly enjoy. At the end, spoiler alert, Chris even gives his own prediction for how this year’s iteration of America’s Team will do… all while rooting for them as both a fan and a filmmaker.

We’ll have an episode posted right after every Cowboys game this season assessing and analyzing what we just saw, so look for that this Friday night after we host the Dolphins!
