Happy Monday, Cowboys Nation! It is a happy Monday indeed (a #VictoryPoloMonday as our RJ Ochoa would put it), as we are celebrating the Dallas Cowboys’ first win of the 2016 season. Jason Garrett’s squad came out on top against literally the only team that loses at home to a Cowboys team without Tony Romo the Washington Redskins, evening their record at 1-1 on the season and in the NFC East.
#Cowboys are 2-1 since 2015 without Tony Romo against the Washington Redskins. Cowboys are 0-11 without Romo in all other games.

Whether your plans for the day involve working, attending class, or even just watching more football, its time for a celebratory edition of Tweet Break – victory style!
Dazzling Dak Prescott
One of the biggest reasons for added excitment following this Cowboys win is that they got the job done on the road with a rookie quarterback making just his second start.
Dak Prescott continues to grow in front of our eyes, now proving that this team absolutely can remain relevant without Tony Romo in 2016.
Another first: First time QB named Dakota won a game in the NFL. Of course, Prescott is also first Dakota or Dak to play in the league.

Of course, his critics continue to doubt the latest star-wielding signal caller, with their takes being summed up nicely in this old tweet from Colin Cowherd.
Dak Prescott is a back up in NFL. At tight end.
— Colin Cowherd (@colincowherd) November 15, 2014
If Dak Prescott was a tight end, he wouldn’t be a Dallas Cowboy. We have Jason Witten, Geoff Swaim, Gavin Escobar, and James Hanna. We also have a very capable quarterback – named Dak Prescott – to get these tight ends the ball.
Moving on…
Not a Happy Monday for Some
Y'all have no idea how pissed off I am. Can't believe @dallascowboys won. Yo @Redskins…what damn purpose do you serve? Ugh!????????????
— Stephen A Smith (@stephenasmith) September 18, 2016
Known Dallas Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith was fired up after this game, proposing a question that Cowboys’ fans have been pondering for years.
Nobody really knows what purpose the Washington Redskins serve, but yesterday they were here to lose (as always), and we thank them for that.
Cowboys Nation will carry on and enjoy this win heading into week 3, and I encourage you all to get an even bigger laugh out of my mockery of Stephen A. Smith from last October – “Stephen A. Smith: Cowboys Nation Is Pathetic”
Winning in the Trenches
The Cowboys were able to win this game thanks in large part to their offensive line, while they also got some big-time plays on the defensive line to seal the deal.
Players on both sides of the ball took to Twitter to chime in about the 27-23 victory.
Wasn't pretty by any means but a win is a win. Love going to battle with my brothers. #CowboyNation

Even the newly signed Ryan Davis, who began his Cowboys’ career as an inactive today, chimed in about the excitement for what lies ahead.
This cowboy fan base is electric ???????? I've never seen anything like the support I saw today, can't wait to suit up ????????
