Normally when you win in the NFL, the following week is a good one. Such has not necessarily been the case for the 2016 Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys have placed rookie DE Charles Tapper (back) on IR to make room for newly-signed OT Emmett Cleary

Charles Tapper being placed on IR isn’t really shocking at this point, although it is obviously disappointing. Tapper has been dealing with back issues for a while now, and it seems that the Cowboys are finally giving up on his 2016 chances.
What is interesting about this move is that it is being made to accommodate recently-signed OT Emmett Cleary. I speculated in that post that the signing of Cleary would mean that La’el Collins, who has a foot issue that will sideline him for some time, was headed to IR.
The Inside The Star Staff Writers are a hard-working team, and when discussing these roster moves when news first broke there was some solid speculation that Collins could be moved to IR next week in order to make room for DeMarcus Lawrence who will be coming off of suspension. This makes an incredible amount of sense as the Cowboys are still seeing what options are with Collins in terms of potential surgery, and time will likely force their hand.
It’s unfortunate that Charles Tapper is headed to IR, and it really highlights how porous the Cowboys Draft Class is at this point. Obviously Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott have been playing well, but now two of the first four picks (Jaylon Smith and Charles Tapper being the others) will not play one snap of football the year they were drafted. To call that disappointing would be to be putting it mildly.
The Cowboys have also decided to shake-up their roster with another defender out and lineman in, signing Clay DeBord and releasing Chris McCain.
The Cowboys also released DE Chris McCain (California) from the practice squad and signed T Clay DeBord (Eastern Washington) in his place.

All of this is happening while the Cowboys still await the MRI results for the knee of Dez Bryant. We’re 2-1 though, so at least we’ve got that going for us!
