On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys will face a tough test as they look to get to 4-1 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. America’s Team is getting ready, with a multitude of injuries to tend to, but without the distraction that was last week’s Dez Bryant fiasco.
With that, Cowboys Nation has taken to Twitter as always to chat about the Cowboys, and I’ve collected the best of the best for Tweet Break.
Let’s have some fun.
Rookie Recognition
Ezekiel Elliott’s league leading rushing performance through his first four weeks as the Cowboys’ starting running back has turned plenty of heads around the NFL, including that of Le’Veon Bell – another star back in this league with the Steelers.
okayyyyyy then @EzekielElliott ???????? https://t.co/A0LHl2ye2j

Bell just returned from a four game suspension to start his season, going for 144 yards in his first game against the Chiefs. Both him and Elliott will be good players at their craft for a long, long time in this league.

The Cowboys and Steelers will face off later in the season in Pittsburgh on November 13th in week 10.
Performance of a Lifetime
Sticking with the running back position, there is no doubt that many Cowboys’ faithful had flashbacks to Emmitt Smith when Zeke Elliott was drafted. In fact, Smith came out right after Elliott’s selection to say that the 21-year old was better than him – the league’s all-time leading rusher.

Smith put on shows every week on his way to 18,355 career rushing yards, and Cowboys Nation will watch as Elliott tries to put on another show in his fifth career game on Sunday. Poetic.
Bad Blood (?) in the NFC East
I mentioned in the introduction that Dez Bryant wasn’t as newsworthy of a subject this week (an entire Tweet Break was dedicated towards him a week ago right here), but we will still mention him in this edition.
More noticeably, Odell Beckham Jr. has been causing headlines this week for his childish behavior with the Giants. Obviously, the Giants are one of the Cowboys’ bitter NFC East rivals, but in New York’s week 1 win against the Cowboys we saw Bryant and Beckham be best of friends on the field in pregame warm ups.
Then, Bryant took to Twitter (as he does so often) to share some thoughts.
Football is a game of emotions… I'm sorry for the ones who don't understand that… No harm intended..#extremelove

Talk about a transition in professional football from the days of Emmitt Smith to today.
Jeff Heath Taking “Core Special Teams Player” to a New Level
If you haven’t seen the news, Cowboys’ Pro Bowl kicker Dan Bailey is still suffering from the back injury that was reported in San Francisco, causing the team to work out kickers ahead of Sunday’s game.
Prior to bringing these established kickers in, safety Jeff Heath was serving as the emergency kicker, and was apparently doing a decent job at it according to his Head Coach.
Jason Garrett on Jeff Heath kicking: "I'll tell you what, he was pretty impressive. He can kick the football. We prefer Dan Bailey."

We all still prefer Dan Bailey. Especially because of this.
