The Dallas Cowboys refused to fall into the “trap game” against the Cleveland Browns this afternoon, controlling the ball on offense en route to a dominating 35-10 win. Since their week one 20-19 loss to the New York Giants, the Cowboys have rolled off 7 straight victories, dominating opponents week after week.
After a slow start which resulted in a quick 3-0 Browns lead, the Cowboys opened up their offense and battened down the hinges defensively. The Cowboys did not trail once the rest of the game.
The rookies once again showed just how mature they are this week. After a rough outing last week in which he completed less than 50 percent of his passes, quarterback Dak Prescott rebounded today, throwing for 3 touchdowns on 21-27 passing. 
Ezekiel Elliott continued to dominate defenses, running through and over Browns defenders for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 18 carries. Defensively, Maliek Collins played his best game yet recording 2 sacks and 3 solo tackles.
Next week, the Cowboys travel to Pittsburgh to face the 4-3 (probably soon to be 4-4) Steelers.
Other Notes
- Jason Witten played his best game in years, going for 134 yards and a touchdown on 8 catches. Maybe Dak has finally discovered Tony Romo’s security blanket.
- Mark Sanchez made his Cowboys debut, and actually didn’t do that bad. All he had to do was hand the ball off a few times, but he did have a nice 8 yard completion for a first down conversion.
- I expected the Browns to put up more of a fight than this, honestly. No, they aren’t a good football team, but I expected them to play with fire and show a few wrinkles, similar to what they did on their first possession. But, besides that first possession, they absolutely rolled over and accepted their fate.
- Alfred Morris is pretty good, too. I’d love to see Morris get more chances, especially in games like these. As good as Morris looks sometimes, the drop off between him and Zeke is incredible, which keeps him off the field.
- Of course, I haven’t re-watched the game or the film yet, but just based off the eye test is seemed like Orlando Scandrick had a rough day. Brandon Carr, on the other hand, played incredibly. Anthony Brown played well also, and continues to show improvement each week.
- Next up are the Steelers, who look absolutely terrible today. They currently trail the Ravens 21-7.
