Dallas Cowboys Promote WR Vince Mayle from Practice Squad

Sean Martin

Vince Mayle is back on the Cowboys active roster. A practice squad wide receiver, Mayle has been promoted for the second time in two seasons, after being active for a game last season – only to be waived and re-signed again prior to 2016.

Mayle had a way of turning heads at training camp with the Cowboys, standing out from other camp bodies with his natural size and athletic ability. Now, he may get a chance to put his talents on display for the best team in the NFL.

A corresponding roster move will have to be made by the Cowboys to activate Mayle, and we do not formally know what that will be just yet. The logical speculation is that TE Geoff Swaim, who will require surgery for a pectoral injury suffered on Sunday, will end up on injured reserve – clearing a roster spot for Mayle.

If this is the case, the Cowboys likely see Mayle as the best blocker they can call on to replace Swaim, with James Hanna not ready to return and Rico Gathers not ready to see live action.

  1. Terrance is a good receiver but at that position the cowboys need more speed, so I think its time to really look at another receiver that has the seed to take some pressure off of Dez.

  2. So take your speedy asses out there better yet try catching a ball oops that won’t happen bc you’re busy shitty from your mouth.
