Rolando McClain Suspended Again, This Time For A Whole Year

RJ Ochoa

Some things never change, and I suppose Rolando McClain is one of those things. The troubled linebacker that had a breakout season for the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, who is technically scheduled to come back from suspension on Monday, has been suspended for a whole year on top of it all.

This isn’t particularly shocking, honestly. Rolando McClain didn’t even show up to Training Camp, and Jerry Jones was hyping up his potential return all last week which always spells doom.

The Cowboys seemingly drafted McClain’s replacement in the 2nd Round a few months back with the selection of Notre Dame’s Jaylon Smith – keep your fingers crossed – and are well-prepared for life without McClain. In fact, the Cowboys are the top team in the NFL without any sort of meddling of his this season.

For now the suspension is Cowboys news because he’s technically affiliated with the team. It shouldn’t be long, whether soon or in the immediate offseason, until that status quo is changed.
