NFL Suspends Cowboys DE Randy Gregory For Full Year

The football Gods giveth, and they taketh away.

On the same day in which Cowboys fans learned that their 2016 second round pick Jaylon Smith was going to be ready for 2017, they now also learn that their 2015 second round pick Randy Gregory will not be.

Gregory has been suspended for at least one year by the NFL for violating their substance abuse policy (whatever that might mean). He will not be able to participate in this upcoming offseason, and cannot return to game-play until the 2017 playoffs. This means, of course, he is out for the 2016 playoffs.

This news comes right after Gregory played the best game of his young career on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Hopefully, for both the Cowboys and Gregory, this is the last of the suspensions.
