Free Agent Tackle Byron Bell Visiting Dallas Cowboys

Sean Martin

The Dallas Cowboys still have a few roster holes that they would like to fill prior to the 2017 NFL Draft next month. One such spot of concern is at offensive tackle, with the retirement of Doug Free leaving the anything-but-reliable Chaz Green as the starter at RT. Although he comes with his own injury concerns, free agent Byron Bell is visiting with the team in free agency on Friday.

Bell signed with the Carolina Panthers after the 2011 Draft, but started at least 12 games every season for them until 2014.

In 2015, Byron Bell started 16 games for the first time in his career with the Tennessee Titans before unfortunately missing this past season with a dislocated ankle. If not for the injury, Bell was expected to play mostly at guard for the Titans, showing off the versatility the Cowboys love when it comes to adding the most depth to their world-beating offensive line.

Inside The Star will keep you updated on veteran OT Byron Bell, who also reportedly visited with the Green Bay Packers earlier in the week.

  1. def sign this guy now, would be nice addition with free going out to pasture, then try to pick up a young draftable guy to groom.
