Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 is a day that we will all remember. Tony Romo announced his intention to retire from professional football this day, and shortly after it was announced that Romo will be replacing Phil Simms while joining Jim Nantz as CBS’ No. 1 color analyst. His time as the Dallas Cowboys was one incredible ride, and now you can re-live the most glorious parts all in one amazing video.

NFL Network put together a video chronicling each and every Tony Romo 4th-Quarter comeback win, and it’s going to give you all the feels. The video begins with Tony Romo’s first career start, an October 29th, 2006 contest in Carolina against the Panthers. Isn’t it absolutely incredible that even in his first start Tony Romo needed a 4th-Quarter comeback in order to get the Dallas Cowboys a win?
As the video rolls on you’ll see all of the best Romo moments, the ones you absolutely remember and still recount, ultimately culminating in his final 4th-Quarter comeback win for the Cowboys… the 2015 season opener at home against thew New York Giants.
The career of Tony Romo is one that went, and still is, massively under-appreciated by plenty of ignorant fans. The fact that there is enough footage to put together a 12-minute video that literally displays each time that he bailed his team out of trouble is more than enough proof of this man’s heroics.
Tony Romo gave his all for the Dallas Cowboys, which is why such an outpouring of affection began the moment news of his retirement broke. Do yourself a favor and re-live some of the most incredible moments that lifted our spirits and cemented themselves in our hearts for all-time. Thank you for each and every one of these, Tony Romo. They’re all a perfect display of the classic “Romo Magic” in their own individual ways.
Observations from Watching that….
TO was great. Probably helped Romo’s development a ton.
Witten is the greatest TE ever. He is still doing things that he did in 2006 when Romo debuted.
There was a time when Miles Austin was a legit go-to receiver in the league. And that time coincided between the time in which they had TO and when Dez emerged. It isn’t a coincidence that Miles dropped off after Dez emerged and then when he went to Philly, he pretty much disappeared. Miles was great for a time, but I think that is completely due to Tony Romo’s ability to lift the game of receivers around him.
Laurent Robinson, Terrance Williams, Dwayne Harris, Cole Beasley are all secondary receivers that Romo made look really good. I think his work with them created great chemistry that has made them all better. And Dak Prescott is going to benefit from that. Williams and Beasley are not just average receivers, they are good. And if Prescott puts in the time with his WR group that Romo did, he will have a chance to be great too.
Also, remember when Marion Barber was running over fools on those delayed draws. Man that was awesome.
