It is extremely difficult to find a flaw with Dak Prescott. I’m not necessarily trying to find one here, but if you were tasked with searching… it’d be difficult for you. Dak Prescott is humble, hardworking, disciplined, efficient, any and every glowing thing that there is is likely applicable to him. While Dak Prescott might appear to be perfect to all of us, it’s to Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett that he truly is perfect.
Dak Prescott has no plans to alter his approach entering his second season. https://t.co/0yUvbcf5fk pic.twitter.com/AZymFwOiCJ

Dak Prescott did an interview with ESPN’s E:60 – which aired Mother’s Day morning, we’ll have you updated here at Inside The Star when an online version becomes available – and the above quote was given to Jeremy Schaap during the collection of the interview. Think about Dak Prescott’s final words there. “No matter what the circumstances are.” Where have you seen those before, Cowboys Nation?
We’re all well-aware of the “Fight” mantra that Jason Garrett preaches to the Dallas Cowboys. The videos DallasCowboys.com put out prior to the 2016 Divisional Playoff Game against the Green Bay Packers were works of art. “Fight” is who these Cowboys are. It’s the message that serves as the foundation of the Jason Garrett era.
The first “Fight” speech Jason Garrett ever gave came shortly before the 2014 season began. It’s not a coincidence that since then the Cowboys have been to the Divisional Round twice, had two different quarterbacks challenge for League MVP, and had two different running backs lead the NFL in rushing… it’s all about the mantra.
While many players who either still reside or who have gone on for different reasons certainly embody Jason Garrett’s mantra… perhaps no one else personifies it more than Dak Prescott. Here are Jason Garrett’s words from almost three years ago:
“So when they got to Training Camp on Day 1 out at Oxnard about three and a half weeks ago, everybody walked into their room and there was a t-shirt lying on their bed. It was navy blue, it was pretty simple. It had a star in the back on the nape of the neck and on the front of it – it had “Fight.”
That’s what we’re gonna do. That’s what we’re gonna do.
What I try to impress upon our guys each and every day… all the coaches, all the players, all the staff… is that the most successful people in life, in all walks of life, they fight.
They fight for their teammates, they fight for their goals, most importantly they fight to be their best… regardless of what the circumstances are.”
Regardless of what the circumstances are. No matter what the circumstances are. These are two lines of logic said by Jason Garrett and Dak Prescott almost three years apart. If anyone has completely bought in to Jason Garrett’s philosophy it seems as if it’s his star quarterback, the person who you would most want it to be.
You can’t ask for perfection, and you can’t ask for Dak Prescott. Whether you’re Jason Garrett or your average Dallas Cowboys fan all you can do is ask for someone who’s going to buy in and do whatever it takes… regardless of what the circumstances are. Thankfully for all of us, it seems like that is indeed Dak Prescott.
Good article. GO COWBOYS!
Dak will only grow & get better, he will master perfection soon enough.
Willie, as a Mississippi State grad, who has followed Dak’s entire career, he will get better each year. Looking forward to watching him with more of the Cowboys playbook this year
Me too
RJ , awesome article on Dak. I haven’t been this excited for the Cowboys upcoming season, since prior to the Cowboys 1992 season.
RJ, I truly believe that Coach Garrett and Dak, are joined to the hip, in regards, to the Jason Garrett era, more so, than with Romo, because of Dak’s youthfulness.
Great things, are finally, coming together, to make America ‘s Team, great again. I think Coach Jason Garrett and Dak, when it’s all said and done, will go down as the best coach and quarterback duo, in Cowboys lacacy, over Staubach and Landry, Aikman, Johnson-Switzer. How many Super Bowl rings, do this duo, acquire? It’s sky’s the limit. Jerry will have to build a larger Trophy Case, to add numerous Super Bowl Trophies.
I also agree with Willie, in regards to Dak.
Dak Attack!!!!
Dak is more special than we really know. I know cowboys haters who like Dak. He made us forget about Romo in a good way I supported Romo his whole career but he just couldn’t get it done when it mattered or he was always hurt. Dak and Zeke reengerized Cowboys nation. We should be thankful for all the other qbs that went before him cuz we got the best one
Prescott and Garrett are joined by the hip for the duration of both careers
