Cowboys 2017 Training Camp Dates and Location Announced

Sean Martin

In exactly one month, the Dallas Cowboys will be opening their 2017 training camp from Oxnard, California once again – on a quest for Super Bowl LII that will begin in the summer heat of California, followed by an extra preseason game in August 3rd’s Hall of Fame game, and end with open practices at The Star over the course of the final two preseason weeks.

The NFL made Dallas’ July 22nd training camp start date official yesterday, although this date will only mark the Cowboys’ arrival in Oxnard. Opening press conferences will take place the next day, with the team’s long-awaited return to football action set for Monday the 24th.

The Cowboys will have plenty of time to settle back into Texas before opening their season at home against the Giants, as the August 21-29 practices from The Star will be open to the public as we build up excitement for a “dress rehearsal” against the Raiders and preseason finale trip to Houston.

Part of what has made Dallas Cowboys training camp under Jason Garrett a can’t miss portion of the offseason’s roster build is the extreme level of competition his culture has created throughout this young roster. As you see, the Cowboys 2017 rookies that will be looking to follow in the footsteps of perhaps Dallas’ best ever draft class from a year ago will be getting a head start on this journey by reporting on the 19th.

Cowboys Minicamp: Taco Charlton Impresses At LDE, Who Emerges At RDE? 3 My first season covering the Cowboys here at Inside The Star was 2015 (although that season never happened), and there has been no better time to obsess over America’s Team than during the last two training camps.

This year expects to be no different, with early roster battles looking to be heated at defensive end, cornerback, safety, wide receiver, and left guard to start. As always, Inside The Star will have you covered right here and on Twitter at Cowboys Nation.

Hurry up please, football. We all miss you so, so much.
