After news broke earlier today that wide receiver Lucky Whitehead had a warrant out on him due to shoplifting at a convenience store, we have now learned the Dallas Cowboys have officially released Whitehead.
And.. the #Cowboys informed Lucky Whitehead they cut him. Wow.

Many expected Lucky to have trouble earning a roster spot anyway, with Ryan Switzer gunning for his job as the returner/offensive weapon. Now, the choice of who will be the Cowboys “WR5” seems clear, as Whitehead is out of the picture.
Jason Garrett and company may be trying to send a message that they will not put up with any more off the field drama from their players, but it is fair to wonder how this would have gone down had the accused player been someone of the caliber of Dak Prescott.
Regardless, the decision has been made and Lucky Whitehead is no longer a Dallas Cowboy.
Dak wouldn’t shoplift to begin with. Whitehead is a idiot
The NFLPA talking bout investigating the situation, I laughed at both the NFL and the Cowboys. The NFL looking into the cowboys cutting their fifth receiver who wasnt going to make the team anyway and the Cowboys cutting Whitehead but being ok with Multiple Starters Arrests/Suspensions/Allegations. The cowboys and the NFL both look bad in this situation. Take your L’s on move on
Unlucky Whitehead…
Actually very fortunate, and well-earned, to make an NFL roster as a walk on. He has speed and is a utility backup WR and return man. After he clears the legal trouble, good chance to parlay his career start in Dallas, into a roster spot elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Lucky Strikes out… ;^)
