After holding his own as a tackle at the end of the 2016 season, and being worked as a left guard through this training camp, the Cowboys have cut OL Emmett Cleary.

Cleary’s release seemingly opens the door for Jonathan Cooper to start at LG for the Cowboys, as Chaz Green will be needed as a backup tackle along with Byron Bell – who beats out Cleary for a backup spot at both guard and tackle, with much more starting experience under his belt.
