Ezekiel Elliott Will Miss 49ers Game, per NFL

Sean Martin

After plenty of conflicting reports on whether Ezekiel Elliott would be able to continue playing for the Cowboys out of the bye week in San Francisco, the NFL informed the team today that their star running back will in fact be out.

While the NFLPA and Elliott’s legal team continue to work towards exhausting all options in freezing Zeke’s suspension and fighting the NFL on procedural errors, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling in favor of the league will cause Elliott to begin his looming six game ban.

The Cowboys won in San Francisco last year 24-17, with Elliott rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown. Dallas has kept Darren McFadden inactive to this point each week, and the belief is that he’ll now come off the bench to help the Cowboys out of the backfield again along with Alfred Morris.
