After an extremely disappointing start to the season, the Dallas Cowboys finally came through for 60 minutes and looked like themselves last Sunday. In a 40-10 blowout of the San Francisco 49ers, the Cowboys improved to 3-3 and got themselves right back in the thick of things in the NFC playoff picture.
En route to that impressive and dominant win, the Cowboys executed some incredible plays. Let’s look back on the three best plays from Sunday’s win in this week’s edition of Plays of the Week.
Dez Bryant Makes Cowboys History
While the game was just about decided this late in the fourth quarter, Dez Bryant’s lone touchdown catch was an important one for Cowboys history. With this touchdown, Bryant tied Bob Hayes for the most touchdown receptions in team history. Barring catastrophic injury, Bryant should break the record very soon.
Plus, this was an awesome grab, regardless of the historical implications. Splitting both the cornerback and the safety, Bryant gets to the back of the end zone and comes away with the jaw-dropping toe-tap grab.
Dez Bryant remains one of the league’s most dangerous red zone threats.
D-Law Cannot Be Blocked
If the season ended today, DeMarcus Lawrence would be my favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year. Getting another sack (his 9th full one of the season) last Sunday, Lawrence continued to assert his dominance against the 49ers.
This was a huge play in the game too. Though they led by 17, Dallas was in danger of letting the lowly 49ers back into things late in the first half.
Lawrence made sure this wouldn’t happen, stripping quarterback CJ Beathard and forcing the turnover. This play completely killed any momentum the 49ers were able to build before going into halftime.
Zeke Is Still Hungry, By The Way

Ezekiel Elliott had his best game since 2016 last Sunday, going for over 200 all purpose yards and scoring three touchdowns.
His third touchdown was his most impressive, taking a screen pass 72 yards on the Cowboys first play from scrimmage in the second half. Also notable are fantastic downfield blocks from Zack Martin and rookie wide-out Noah Brown.
Elliott was incredible against the 49ers, and as long as he remains in the line up, the Cowboys have a chance to win each and every week.
