The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been able to win two football games in a row this year. It hasn’t been the season we expected it to be before it began. The Cowboys have a 3-3 record, and that’s without Ezekiel Elliott serving a suspension. Surprisingly, Philadelphia is leading the division with a 6-1 record, and the road to the NFC East title is a tough one.
But the Dallas Cowboys face another 3-3 NFC East team today, as they get ready to beat Washington on the road. It certainly feels like a must-win game for both parties involved, and the rivalry matchup is more than promising.
There’re 10 games left for this football team, and they might need at least eight more wins to be able to play in the playoffs. But for now, all we want is a win in Washington.
But as every week, here at Inside The Star we want an extra thing or two… or five. Here is this week’s edition of Dallas Cowboys Wishlist!
Wish #1: Dak Prescott Scores 3+ Touchdowns
After enduring an entire offseason of hearing things like “One-year wonder”, “sophomore slump”, “teams have tape on him”, and so much more, Dak Prescott doesn’t seem to have regressed one bit.
In fact, he’s improved a lot since last season. Once again, Dak is proving the narrative wrong.
Last year, through six weeks, Dak had thrown for seven touchdowns. This year, he has 14 passing touchdowns. And he’s still hurting defenses in the ground game, he has three rushing touchdowns.
In the last four games, Prescott has been responsible for 14 touchdowns. He has thrown for at least three TDs in each of his last three games, and it doesn’t seem like he’s slowing down anytime soon.
I wish Dak Prescott has yet another three touchdown performance, and maybe even more.
Wish #2: Beasley Appears, Has Season Best Game
The offense has been hitting on all cylinders after a rough start. Before the Green Bay Packers game, I wrote about how Cole Beasley should be more involved on this offense. After six games, Beasley hasn’t done much.

Josh Norman looks ready to go and he will play today. While I expect Dez Bryant to win the matchup we all love to watch, I think this is a great opportunity for Cole Beasley to step up. I’m convinced he is much better than what his stats say, and if Linehan and Prescott look for him, he will be there.
I’m looking forward to seeing 11 eclipse the 10 catches and have a big day versus the Redskins.
Wish #3: Ezekiel Elliott Is Responsible For More Than 200 Yards Again
If we’re all tired of the off-the-field drama around Ezekiel Elliott, I can’t imagine how he must feel like. Despite what many have said, I truly believe Elliott is still a great RB. Even though this team as a whole has struggled, Zeke is still one of the best at what he does.
Last week, he had the game he needed to have. A game in which he completely dominated the opposing defense. With Jonathan Cooper starting at LG, the offensive line found its groove.
Elliott ran for 147 yards, caught a screen pass for 72 yards in which he showed the speed, and athleticism that he has. He was responsible for three touchdowns.
It would be nice to see the Cowboys’ superstar running back to account for more than 200 total yards for consecutive weeks. Go eat, Zeke!
Wish #4: Cowboys Sack Cousins More Than Three Times
The Dallas Cowboys sacked Aaron Rodgers four times in week 5 of the season, only to go ahead and sack rookie C.J. Beathard five times last week. Yes, you read that correctly. The team I’m talking about are the Dallas Cowboys.
Having a pass rush has been perhaps the biggest surprise of the season. Between DeMarcus Lawrence and David Irving, opposing offensive lines have had a hard time dealing with this group of guys.
We’ve been talking about how this D-line was missing a guy who could make others stand out. Both Lawrence and Irving are trying to be those guys, making the rest of the defensive linemen look good.
With a beaten-up offensive line, I’d be surprised if this group of guys doesn’t get to Kirk Cousins at the very least three times today.
Wish #5: Dez Bryant Wins Battle VS Josh Norman
Oh, the trash talk. Dez Bryant and Josh Norman have proven that they can take their rivalry to another level, and it is so fun to watch. It can get nasty, physical, tough… but we can’t deny how fun it is.
Josh Norman was on this week’s injury report, but it looks like he’ll be able to take the field today against one of the league’s best wide receivers, Dez Bryant. Dez is looking to break the Dallas Cowboys’ TD receptions record this week. He is one “Throw Up The X” celebration away.
How special would it be if he pulls it off versus an NFC East rival, and versus Josh Norman. It sure would be special.
Norman’s injury has a lot to do with pain tolerance, and going up against Dez, who is one physical player won’t be easy for him. I wish Dez Bryant beats him today as he breaks the franchise’s record.
