The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins are both 5-6 and trying to salvage some small measure of hope for their season. Before they meet tomorrow night in what is essentially a death match, let’s take a look at both teams’ injury reports.
Dallas Cowboys
- WR Ryan Switzer (ankle) – Questionable
- OT Tyron Smith (back/groin) – Questionable
- OT La’el Collins (back) – Questionable
- G Zack Martin (concussion) – Questionable
- DT Maliek Collins (foot) – Questionable
- LB Sean Lee (hamstring) – OUT
- LB Justin Durant (concussion) – OUT
- LB Anthony Hitchens (groin) – Questionable
Sean Lee being out is becoming painfully normal now, as is the Cowboys losing games when he’s not leading the defense. They will now also be without veteran reserve Justin Durant. Thankfully, despite appearing on the report, Anthony Hitchens is expected to play tomorrow night. Expect to see a lot of Jaylon Smith and Damien Wilson, also.
While not ruled out yet, La’el Collins missed all practices this week so he’s unlikely to play. Byron Bell will get the start in his place. Despite their own nagging issues, Tyron Smith and Zack Martin should play tomorrow to help keep the offensive line solvent.
Kick and punt returner Ryan Switzer has been limited all week with an ankle injury but should be okay for the game. He also could be important on offense as Dallas looks for more creative ways to move the ball after their recent struggles, particularly against a division rival who knows them so well.
Washington Redskins

- OT Morgan Moses (knee/ankles) – Questionable
- OT Ty Nsekhe (core) – Questionable
- G Brandon Scherff (knee) – Questionable
- C Chase Roullier (hand) – OUT
- DL Terrell McClain (toe) – OUT
- DL Matt Ioannidis (hand/ankle) – Questionable
- LB Zach Brown (shoulder/achilles) – Questionable
- LB Martrell Spaight (ankle) – Questionable
- S Montae Nicholson (concussion) – OUT
The four players already ruled out are all starters. Jordan Reed is the biggest name, but veteran backup Vernon Davis is capable of having big production in his place. Defenders Terrell McClain and Montae Nicholson were also last week in Washington’s win over the New York Giants.
Roullier’s absence at center highlights a slew of health issues for the offensive line. Starting tackles Trent Williams and Morgan Moses are both hurting; Williams was inactive last Thursday. Brandon Scherff, the starting right guard, is also battling a knee issue.
Star linebacker Zach Brown has nagging injuries of the shoulder and ankle but is expected to play through them. Another starter, Martrell Spaight, missed practice all week and is unlikely to play given that.
