Charles Woodson Named Defensive POY: Anquan Boldin Will Play

Bo Martin

Well with all this playoff talk, we forget that there is other news to keep up with.  The Dallas Cowboys have made a move for the future by signing linebacker Leon Williams.  According to a blog by Nick Eatman, the Dallas Cowboys signed the Cleveland linebacker today to a “futures” contract.

In 12 career starts Leon Williams has recorded 90 tackles and 4 sacks.

Woodson Defensive Player of the Year

Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson edged out Darrelle Revis for this years Defensive Player of the Year.  Woodson has been dynamic and has truly exemplified the title “shut down corner.”  At no point in the season did anyone worry about Woodson despite his matchup.  This season he had 9 interceptions, 3 touchdowns, 27 passes defended, 2 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles.

Some people could have a tremendous argument for Revis, but at the end of the day Woodson was a more rangy cornerback who won games for his team.  Period.

Injury Update: Boldin optimistic

The Arizona Cardinals are going into the most difficult game of their season.  Going into New Orleans the Cardinals will need to have all their weapons.  Luckily wide receiver Anquan Boldin is saying he feels much better and likes his chances to play in this weeks Divisional Playoffs.

Boldin is a 3 time Pro Bowler who has been a consistent luxury to quarterback Kurt Warner.  If he’s in the line up you can’t rule out the Arizona Cardinals to pull out an upset of the No. 1 seeded Saints.
