Here is the scouting report for the 2015 Chargers, and what to expect on Thursday!

2014 Record: 9-7

Playoffs: None

Offense: 18th

Defense: 9th

Today’s NFL is a copy-cat league, and the San Diego Chargers may have success in 2015 by mimicking the 2014 Cowboys.

The team drafted Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon in the first round, and added former Broncos’ linemen Orlando Franklin to beef up the offensive line.

This may be the best running game that Phillip Rivers and the Chargers have had since the days of LT.

This will put the Cowboys run defense to the test early, and they should be up to the challenge! Randy Gregory will anchor an improved defensive line, and fourth round draft pick Damien Wilson will likely see a lot of snaps at linebacker.

The secondary will likely be playing without Brandon Carr, and first-round draft pick Byron Jones will be tested early along with Tyler Patmon. Fans should watch those two closely when Phillip Rivers and the Chargers’ offense is on the field.

As for the Cowboys’ offense, the goal should be simple. With a lot of “mouths to feed”, Tony Romo can focus on getting all of his receivers involved early.

Dez Bryant will not play, which gives Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley a chance to step up and develop chemistry with Romo.

The running back situation will also clear up slightly, with Joseph Randle leading the way. Look for the Cowboys to get Randle his touches early in their first possession, befCowboys Blog - Back to Football: Scouting the San Diego Chargers 2ore subbing in Lance Dunbar and Gus Johnson – who has looked good so far in training camp.

Overall, Cowboys Nation should be hoping for everyone to make it out of San Diego healthy, and with spirits high for 2015!
