Earlier today, ESPN’s Todd Archer gave us a breakdown of who won’t be participating as the Cowboys being their 2016 Training Camp.
“Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar (knee), defensive tackle Maliek Collins (foot) and defensive end Benson Mayowa (knee) will open camp on active/physically unable to perform list. Running back Darren McFadden (elbow) and linebacker Jaylon Smith (knee) will open camp on active/non-football injury list. All but Smith should be back at some point during camp.”
Surprisingly missing from that list is tight end Gavin Escobar, who’s recovery from a torn Achilles seemed likely to keep him out until at least the regular season. However, Archer also clarified Escobar’s status:
Gavin Escobar not on PUP. He will work back into practice from the start of camp

Lastly, Archer made clear that stars Dez Bryant, Sean Lee, and Orlando Scandrick would be active but may be worked in slowly as camp begins. Bryant is coming back from offseason foot surgery while Scandrick had major knee repair early last season. Lee had a minor procedure on his knee to help avoid future injuries.
The only question mark now is Rolando McClain, who missed the team flight yesterday and has yet to report to Oxnard. No explanation has been given for his absence.
