The second week of the Dallas Cowboys’ OTA practices are underway, with young players on both sides of the ball generating plenty of buzz – when given the chance. The Cowboys are typically very patient with working in their rookie players, and despite drafting three new cornerbacks, veteran FA acquisition Nolan Carroll remains a starter in practice despite his Monday DWI arrest.
When the news broke following Memorial Day that Carroll was arrested, not too long after David Irving hurt Rod Marinelli’s defense by landing a pending four game suspension, Cowboys Nation was rightfully questioning the very foundation of this team under Jason Garrett and his “right kind of guy” mantra.
Carroll has reportedly apologized to the team privately and done everything he can to correct his wrong. With no true precedent for DWIs leading to NFL suspension, the Cowboys and Carroll seem content to move on with a valuable piece of their secondary.

Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis, and Marquez White were all popular names circling on Twitter and elsewhere to potentially “replace” Carroll, but the reports out of OTAs continue to show that not only is Carroll holding firm at a starting boundary CB position but it is actually second-year player Anthony Brown in position to benefit the most from any Carroll discipline.

When it is all said and done, the Cowboys will likely already be expecting plenty of snaps from Anthony Brown this season – along with the needed veteran in Nolan Carroll.
Move on Lets ball! We need all hands on deck to change this defense around. This secondary will be alot better than expectations. They could surprise some people
