Feeling good about their young talent in the secondary, the Cowboys have moved on from veteran safety Robert Blanton as they continue to trim their roster down to 53 players. Blanton was signed by the team a week before the draft, an experienced and steady player that played his best football for Mike Zimmer in 2014 with the Vikings.
Coming away with Chidobe Awuzie and later Xavier Woods in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cowboys are comfortable throwing these rookies into the fire alongside Byron Jones and Jeff Heath at safety.
