Christmas was almost two weeks ago, but it seems like the Dallas Cowboys just got a gift. Their 2016 2nd Round Pick Jaylon Smith said on Thursday that he feels good and that the nerve in his leg is regenerating.

We need to remain calm, Cowboys Nation, but this is extremely encouraging news regarding one of the most talented players in last year’s draft pool. The drafting of Jaylon Smith was one of the more questionable moves made by any team many months ago, but it appears that Dallas is close to that paying huge dividends.
Talked to Jaylon Smith. Believes he could've played by now, being patient. Nerve regenerating. Brace not a factor anymore. Ran 4.5 other day

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer Jaylon Smith ran a 4.5 the other day. It is all coming together, people!
While Jaylon did say that he felt that he could play at an “elite level” in the playoffs, we must again temper our expectations. The Cowboys have been extremely patient all along with Jaylon. He’s a 2017-and-beyond project, and it seems like those days are going to be some glorious ones.
