Cowboys Offensive Guard Zack Martin Gets Married

Brian Martin

The 2016 off-season has been a busy one for several members of the Dallas Cowboys. This summer several different players, past and present, have decided to take the plunge into matrimony and they figured that the the months of June and July was the right time to tie the knot to their significant others.

I have kind of become the unofficial wedding announcement Staff Writer here at Inside The Star. Over the past several weeks there have been three members of America’s Team to get married and the number continues to grow.

Towards the end of June, offensive guard Ronald Leary traded in his pads for a suit and said I do. Then, both linebacker Anthony Hitchens and former safety Matt Johnson decided to use the 4th of July weekend to celebrate their nuptials.

Well, not to be outdone by some of his teammates, offensive guard Zack Martin recently said I do to his longtime girlfriend/fiancé.

Zack Martin and the rest of his groomsmen are looking pretty sharp in their blue suits and magnanni footwear.

Is it just me or do those “Cowboy blue” suits make you like Zack Martin even more? It kind of gives you the feeling that Martin is showing his team pride even on his wedding day.

Whether it is coincidence or by design, Martin has now confirmed why is one of my favorite Dallas Cowboys players and to think it may have never happened if Jerry Jones had gotten his way back in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Cowboys Headlines - Cowboys Offensive Guard Zack Martin Gets MarriedZack Martin and Johnny Manziel will forever be linked together because owner/general manager Jerry Jones wanted to draft Manziel over Martin, but was thankfully talked out of it in the end.

At the time, Manziel was considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft because of his exciting play in college at Texas A&M. Martin on the other hand didn’t receive quite the fanfare as Manziel, but was one of the best offensive lineman to ever play at Notre Dame.

We all know now that Zack Martin was the right choice. He came in and made the Cowboys offensive line one of the best units in the entire NFL, while Manziel has pretty much done everything in his power to force his way out of the league.

Martin’s career trajectory is still on the rise, but Manziel’s career in the NFL is circling the drain. Martin has been voted to the Pro Bowl twice in his first two years in the NFL, while the only thing Manziel has been able to accomplish is being able to be the poster child for TMZ for his parting antics.

Zack Martin has his priorities in order and has done everything in his power to not only succeed on the field, but off of it. There are big expectations for Martin and the rest of the Cowboys offensive line in 2016 with Ezekiel Elliott now expected to handle the lions share of the workload in the backfield.

The running game will once again be featured and Martin will be front row and center when the season kicks off against the New York Giants in Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season.

The player formally known as Johnny Football will be starting the 2016 season watching from the couch and hoping that one team will give him a chance to resurrect his career.

Is there any denying that Zack Martin was indeed the right choice back in 2014?

So, join all of us here at Inside The Star in congratulating Zack Martin and his new bride on their recent nuptials.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Martin!
