The Dallas Cowboys released Safety Will Allen on Tuesday.
Allen signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys during free agency this past spring.
Allen started the season strong, but was quickly brushed to the side when J.J. Wilcox started to shine.
The 10-year veteran was a fourth round pick for the Buccaneers in the 2004 draft and spent six years with them. Allen spent his three years preceding Cowboys playing for the Steelers. He attended Ohio state University and earned All-American honors.
