Cowboys WR Cole Beasley Named Most “Underpaid” Veteran On Roster

Kevin Brady

Featuring one of the most star-studded cast of characters in the entire league, it’s easy to forget about players not named Dak, Dez, or Zeke on the Dallas Cowboys offensive unit. Apparently, it is also easy to underpay those players as well, relative to their actual on-field performance that is.

Danny Kelly of The Ringer put together a list of the most underpaid veterans on each team in the NFL, naming wide receiver Cole Beasley the Cowboys’ representative.

Cole Beasley had been a valued member of the Cowboys receiving corps for a while before 2016, but last season was truly his breakout year. With Dez Bryant out for most of the early half of the season, Beasley was given his chance to shine with then rookie quarterback Dak Prescott.

Beasley showcased his talents each and every week, becoming the team’s most dangerous red zone and third down threat. Leading the NFL in wide receiver rating and all slot receivers in catch rate is impressive, but doing so while earning just the 51st highest average annual salary among those same receivers proves how valuable Beasley is.

Now with a healthy Dez Bryant on the outside, an all-world talent in Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield, the underrated Cole Beasley in the slot, and arguably the best young quarterback in the league in Dak Prescott calling the signals, the Dallas Cowboys offense is set to be the most feared unit in all of football.

Oh, and don’t forget about that monstrous offensive line in front of them all.

I can’t wait for September.

  1. LoL…love that clip, just think a squirrel in both slots and high-jumpers outside.

It is going to be fun watching Lenihan deal from a rigged deck all season.

Switz is the wildcard able to lineup in all 3 WR spots and RB, start passing the TUMs and Xanax around it’s going to to be a long season for defenses.
