A lot of exciting things have happened with the Dallas Cowboys offense so far this off season. Not only will they go into 2017 with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott entering year two following rookie campaigns that were nothing short of phenomenal, but the heartbeat of this team – the offensive line – added another first round talent in Jonathan Cooper just for fun.
Perhaps most importantly though, the Cowboys found a way to bring back Dak Prescott’s entire array of pass catchers. Re-signing both Brice Butler and Terrance Williams, the Cowboys won’t be pressed to add another WR to the mix early in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Waiting for them at the end of this draft could be a hidden gem in the form of Mississippi State WR Fred Ross – who I scouted over at Slant Sports.

Ross impressed me enough to earn a fifth round grade in this draft, which is higher than the general consensus on him. Now he has taken strides to potentially rise up the Cowboys board, furthering his relationship with Dak Prescott while putting in work with WR trainer David Robinson.
Robinson has worked with Brice Butler in the past, along with NFL stars like Antonio Brown, so its safe to say that Ross can learn a lot from his experience in the field. Add in his college quarterback who is looking to dominate the league once again in 2017, and its okay for Cowboys Nation to admit you can’t contain your hype for what the Dallas Cowboys offense could do this season.
The Cowboys are well staffed to work with a WR like Ross thanks to Derek Dooley and Scott Linehan, and the ceiling for a guy like him is well worth a 4th or 5th round pick.
Only further securing my “match made in heaven” for Fred Ross to join Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys is Ross’ ability to come in on day one and be a deep ball threat with reliable hands – a missing element to this team’s offense away from Dez Bryant.
The current moves they’ve made are enough to warrant that excitement, and thinking about “stealing” another weapon that they’re well suited to work with in Fred Ross – as I noted in the above quote from this more detailed breakdown of his fit with Dallas – will have cowbell and Cowboys fans everywhere ready for some football.

Awesome!! Would be a match made in heaven, if the Cowboys was to add Ross to the fold. Another weapon for the Dak Attack!!
