Dallas Cowboys: America’s Media Team

This semester, I was asked to pick an object of study to relate to a number of theoretical perspectives dealing with media content and consumption and write an extensive paper on the chosen object.

What a great excuse to write more about the Dallas Cowboys! After pairing up with fellow WMSC host Nick Franciosa, we began to study the Cowboys as more than just a football team – but a cultural icon that is perceived in many different ways.

Specifically, their branding as “America’s Team” along with their iconic star logo were examined.
