One of the most amazing feelings in the world is peeling that little sheet of plastic off of your new phone. It’s almost as great as the phone itself.
The voices of Cowboys Nation have been experiencing a similar sensation on Saturday as the Cowboys began their quest for Super Bowl LI out in the California sun of Oxnard.
This initial walkthrough practice was preceded by the Training Camp Opening Press Conference on Friday where Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, and Jason Garrett gave us some insight on this current Cowboys unit. Amidst all the jibber-jabber, Stephen Jones did tell us that the Cowboys had their eye on two veteran free agents, and we finally know who he was referencing.
The Cowboys are signing linebackers Darius Eubanks and Henoc Muamba to the roster. Muamba is a former CFL star

It should be noted that Stephen Jones also inferred that it was likely someone who winds up on the final Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster is likely not with them at Training Camp currently. Cowboys fans may be hoping for someone of the name-recognition level as Dwight Freeney, but for now we’ll have to sink our teeth into Darius Eubanks and Henoc Muamba.
Considering the fact that Rolando McClain doesn’t care at all about his NFL career isn’t currently at Cowboys Training Camp, the Cowboys are in need of bodies at the Linebacker spot. They recently brought back a familiar face in Justin Durant, but these guys who you’re about to learn about can certainly help.
Darius Eubanks
Eubanks played collegiately at Georgia Southern before ultimately going undrafted in 2013. He’s bounced around a lot for someone with only three years of experience in the NFL, having played for the Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
You got that right, Cowboys Nation. On October 20th, 2015 Eubanks was signed by America’s Team. Things didn’t really work out for him during his first stint in the blue & silver as he was ultimately waived on December 15th. Merry Christmas, Darius.
Henoc Muamba
This is going to get your juices going. Trust me.
Henoc Muamba grew up in Ontario and played collegiately for the St. Francis Xavier X-Men. Seriously! How freaking awesome is that?!
His football life led him to the CFL where he was the Number One Overall Pick in the 2011 CFL Draft. His real contributions came in 2012 when he racked up 65 tackles and 3 sacks, with an additional 20 on special teams. A season later he had the second most tackles in the CFL (106) while adding a sack, fumble recovery, interception, and defensive touchdown. Hats off, Henoc!
That 2013 season ended with Muamba being voted as team’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player, Most Outstanding Player, and (seriously) Most Outstanding Canadian.
Henoc left the CFL in 2014 to pursue the American version of football, the NFL duh, and spent a year with the Indianapolis Colts. He has a pedigree of excellence that the Cowboys can certainly learn from.
