Dallas Cowboys Draft CB Jourdan Lewis at #92

Sean Martin

After adding a starting cornerback with the 60th overall pick in Colorado’s Chidobe Awuzie, the Cowboys have doubled up on the position with another Michigan Wolverines defender – drafting CB Jourdan Lewis with the 92nd overall pick.

Sliding in the draft because of a domestic violence issue that occurred during the draft process, the Cowboys and other teams around the league have had time to do their homework on Lewis and evaluate his status in this draft.

I personally had Jourdan Lewis graded in the third round on film alone, making him a great value for the Cowboys at the bottom of the round.

Lewis excelled as a shifty slot cornerback at Michigan, meaning his selection only adds to the report that Dallas is looking to trade veteran slot CB Orlando Scandrick. Awuzie and second-year player Anthony Brown are also capable of playing in the slot, with the last two Dallas Cowboys picks adding a ton of athleticism and youth to Rod Marinelli’s secondary.

Cowboys Nation was expecting three starters to come out of the Cowboys’ first three picks in this draft, and Jourdan Lewis has certainly kept that streak going after his college teammate Taco Charlton was this team’s first round selection.

Welcome CB Jourdan Lewis to America’s Team!
