Dallas Cowboys NIMA USA Bluetooth Speakers

Bryson Treece

As a site for Dallas Cowboys fans, I’ve always tried to stick to the basics. The writers here at ITS are true fans, of both the Cowboys and of football in general. We’re not going for salacious or juicy because you’ve got enough of that from the ESPN’s of the world. That said, sometimes a new product hits the market that is just awesome for Cowboys fans, and so I want to talk to you today about NIMA USA Bluetooth Speakers.

I don’t know about you but I’m a bit of an audiophile. I picked up my first guitar when I was 12 years old and have never set it down. I love music. I also happen to enjoy the many conveniences that technology brings us practically every day.

I’ve had plenty of bluetooth speakers over the years and while they are handy, they also kind of suck. I’m the kind of guy who cringes when I hear a car go by with rap music blaring in full treble mode. You know what I’m talking about; the guy can’t afford good speakers yet so he’s got the bass turned all the way down so he can go louder without blowing out the speakers he does have.

Music is an immersive experience, full of tones high and low, and so bluetooth speakers usually leave me a bit disappointed.

The average speaker is just a few inches across the cone. I’ve found some decent soundbars that do a bit better, but it still doesn’t deliver the full range of sound. In truth, I’m not sure any bluetooth speaker designed for mobility will ever be truly great in that regard, but NIMA USA is definitely challenging that assumption.

I got two of the small S Series speakers from NIMA. Once I received them, I charged them both up before using them–as should be done with any rechargeable battery–then I tested one out. I paired with the speaker and opened Spotify on my phone to a suggested playlist, Rock Party. The first song that played was Welcome by Coheed and Cambria. I’m not really a fan, but I like that song. Anyway, the song started and I found myself turning to look at the speaker with wide eyes, then just said aloud, “damn.”

What’s so Special About NIMA USA Bluetooth Speakers?

First and foremost, NIMA USA offers perhaps the best feature ever; full NFL licensing! The two speakers I got are both little Dallas Cowboys helmets.

Pretty awesome, right? That’s a picture of one of my speakers on my desk. You might see the little black wire coming out of the back and that’s because I was testing the line-in functionality. NIMA USA bluetooth speakers come with that.

I’m going to give links to the official NIMA USA website so you guys can check these out for yourselves, so I’m not going to go into every spec. But I will cover some of my favorite features.

Speaker Design

As mentioned before, NIMA USA is fully licensed with the NFL, but they’re also licensed for NCAA teams as well, and are working on NBA and MLB licenses. These things are perfect for your mancave.

Personally, I like to use bluetooth speakers around the house. I get a good playlist going with one in the bathroom for some showers, or I take out into the garage with me to ease the discomfort of heat as I work on my cars. But it’s also great when I head out to lake, grab a table by the water, and just chill.

Another great use is tailgating; sure you can leave your car stereo playing, but you usually have to go too loud for just enough clarity outside the vehicle, which makes you a pest to your neighbors. With NIMA bluetooth speakers, that’s not an issue. Get the right volume and clarity, all while showing off your team spirit. People will trip out seeing this little helmet blasting crystal clear tunes, trust me.

And since NIMA is licensed for all 32 NFL teams and lord knows how many NCAA teams, you can bet they’ve got your team covered. Personally, I’m excited to see what the MLB speakers will look like, and will order a Texas Rangers speaker as soon as I can.

Sound Quality

NIMA USA bluetooth speakers really blew me away with the sound quality. Just by chance, Welcome by Coheed and Cambria was the first thing that came up on Spotify when I tested this bad boy out, and I was stunned. Sure, it had the volume you expect, but it’s more than that.

That song starts with a light guitar medley before a more metal sound starts up. At full blast, the guitar was crystal clear, and then the bass guitar started playing and it wasn’t only clear, but I felt the bass. From a speaker barely twice the size of my fist, I felt the bass! That’s incredible.

I’ve tested it with metal, classic and alternative rock , rap, R&B, country, country rap, and even classical (cello and piano) and with each one the sound was crisp and the lows were actually present.

Before, no matter how hard I searched, I always had to sacrifice audio quality because the speakers are small. With NIMA USA bluetooth speakers, the size didn’t sacrifice the audio quality like other brands. The reason? These speakers have three speakers in them. The earhole location on either side has small speakers for mids and highs, and there’s a small driver on the bottom.

Bluetooth Connectivity – TWS (True Wireless Stereo)

One thing that I find particularly cool about NIMA USA speakers is the ability to pair multiple speakers at once. They call it True Wireless Stereo and it allows the speakers to pair so when you connect them to your phone, you’ve got a better stereo experience.

Bluetooth speakers tend to be limited in range; you can put it close by for better sound if you’re stationary, but if you’re moving around a room a bit, the music fades as you move away. NIMA allows you to actually place speakers across the room for a fuller sound experience than any other bluetooth speaker I’ve ever found.

The bluetooth range for NIMA speakers meets the standard for all bluetooth devices.

Battery Life

I’ve had these a few days now and haven’t had the time to be in one place listening to anything for long enough to test it, but NIMA claims an 8-12 hour battery life on a full charge. In my experience, 3-4 hours is what other speakers offer.

And if that’s not cool enough for you, how about this: NIMA USA bluetooth speakers can actually charge your cell phone!

Yep. The speaker has three ports on the back:

  1. Standard mini-USB charge port
  2. USB power output
  3. Line-in audio jack

Considering how much of a drain streaming music and running bluetooth drains a phone, this might be the most handy feature of all.

Multiple Sizes Available

Looking at the NIMA USA website, you’ll see that every speaker comes in three sizes; small, medium, and large. Judging by the sound quality of the small speakers, I would bet money that the two larger sizes would blow me away.

Don’t get me wrong, I know a good sound system. I’ve built many for home and car. This speaker won’t rival powered systems in any way whatsoever, but then again how many of those can you carry in your hand anywhere you go?

Speaker Pricing

When I first saw the price of these speakers, I admit, I was hesitant. I mean $120 for a small bluetooth speaker is higher than the market average. The medium and large sizes go for $220 and $399, respectively.

Full disclosure: because of my audience with all of you fine Cowboys fans, I was gifted two speakers for the purposes of testing and giving a product review, so I didn’t pay for them.

That said, any doubts I had about the price went away the first time I used one of them. Absolutely.

Portable music is important to me. I have headphones and earbuds and both are uncomfortable after just a few minutes of use, so bluetooth speakers are my preferred method of portable music. I don’t have a need for a full-size, head-sized helmet speaker (the large size) so the price is a bit high for me, personally, but I also don’t entertain people spread over larger distances, like tailgating. If you do, the larger size will be a wise investment, no doubt.

Other Features

I haven’t had occasion to try out the bluetooth call feature yet, but having tried that of other brands and knowing the overall sound quality of NIMA USA bluetooth speakers, I’m confident they’ll be spectacular.

I encourage you to check out the website, read the reviews and product specifications, then get one and see for yourself.

I may not have had to pay for my speakers, but I’m also not getting paid for telling you guys about them. The links in this review to NIMA USA’s website are not affiliate links, and I get no cut of any sales. If you follow us Twitter @CowboysNation, then you know we sometimes push products and services we find valuable to our followers, and this is no different. As with any promotions we run, I demand quality and value. I’ve worked hard on ITS, personally, for eight years and will not put my name on anything I don’t fully support. Just needed to share that; product reviews tend to get a little one-sided and I don’t like that either.

NIMA USA Bluetooth Speakers

Overall, I’d say the CEO of NIMA USA, Nima Saati has the best bluetooth speaker on the market. Forget the sports team designs, the quality of the speaker itself is easily worth the price, but the incredible design is a great bonus.

For a little more info here on the speakers, here’s a recent promotional video that NIMA USA has released.
