Dallas Cowboys Select Gavin Escobar With 47th Pick of 2013 NFL Draft

Bo Martin

The Cowboys made their selection in Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State University.  Escobar is a receiving tight end who is explosive.  This gives the Cowboys a weapon in two tight end sets and gives them another explosive weapon in the passing game.

On the other side, the Cowboys had Larry Warford available at the pick. Warford was a road-grading offensive guard who is a brick wall in pass protection.

It’s hard to see the Cowboys strategy this draft. I don’t think they’re aligned with their needs and seem to just be reaching for players.

With two more picks this evening, we hope for something that makes some more sense.
