Dress rehearsals over and luckily no one broke a leg. As the Cowboys get ready to face the Houston Texans tomorrow night at AT&T Stadium, it’s going to be anything but a star-studded affair. The fourth preseason game of the year has generally been reserved for the players fighting for a roster spot to show that they belong in the NFL.
With NFL teams having to trim their roster yet again, on September 5th, from 75 to 53, this is the last chance for rookies like Jameill Showers, Nick Harwell and Gus Johnson to show that they have what it takes.
It could also be the last time veterans such as Jasper Brinkley, Ray Agnew, or even possibly someone like Terrell McClain, will put on a Cowboys uniform for the last time. I am in no way making any kind of a roster projection, I’m just saying that for some, this game could be their last chance to sticking around in the NFL.
