Just moments ago, Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett announced that starting kicker Dan Bailey will miss Thursday’s practice after being limited Wednesday. The typically automatic Bailey missed his first attempt from 47 yards out on Dallas’ opening drive in San Francisco, as it was reported moments before kickoff that he was suffering from tightness in his back.
Now preparing for a week 5 home game against the Bengals, the Cowboys will work out three kickers in Robbie Gould, Kai Forbath, and Aldrick Rosas.

These two kickers are certainly better than (sorry, Cowboys Nation loyalists) Jeff Heath – the safety and core special teams player that was announced as the backup emergency kicker earlier in the week on Wednesday.
Gould was surprisingly cut by the Bears prior to the start of this season, ending an eleven year kicking career in Chicago. During that time, Gould converted 85.4% of his kicks.
Forbath has experience in the NFC East, having kicked for the Washington Redskins from 2012 until 2015. Just one game into that 2015 season though, Forbath was cut and signed by the New Orleans Saints, where he finished the season and signed an extension for 2016.

Shortly after, the Saints found undrafted kicker Will Lutz, and moved on from Forbath – putting him on the streets for the Dallas Cowboys to potentially bring in on Sunday.
Lastly, Dallas will get a look at Aldrick Rosas, who is a rookie out of Southern Oregon who spent the preseason with the Tennessee Titans.
The Cowboys will need touchdowns to win on Sunday. Let’s score touchdowns. Somebody, maybe Dan Bailey still, will kick the extra points, and it will all be awesome.
