Draft Cowboys: Mock Draft Week 11

Patrick Conn

In a week in which the Dallas Cowboys have a week off, Draft Cowboys wants to once again dive into a mock draft. In this edition we will look at the first four rounds in terms of potential selections.

1. Cyril Richardson, OG, Baylor

Cyril Richardson is an absolute mammoth of a man. He provides a big body guard that can easily get to the second level. If the Cowboys truly want to establish a running game Richardson should be on top of their list. Cowboys scouts got a good look at him Saturday during the Bears 63-34 win at AT&T Stadium.

2. Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State

Much like Richardson, Gabe Jackson could help solidify the right side of the offensive line. This could help Doug Free at the RT position. When there is weak link at the RG spot, Free struggles immensely. If the Cowboys could add Jackson and Richardson, their offensive line would have five members under the age of 30.

3. Shawn Oakman, DE, Baylor

Oakman is a huge guy coming off the edge at 6’9 and 275 pounds. He is an athletic end who, coupled with DeMarcus Ware could strike fear into opposing linemen. With Spencer likely gone due to cap issues and his contract, the Cowboys are in need of a young defensive end. It would be difficult for a quarterback  to throw over his head.

4. CJ Barnett, SS, Ohio State

Barnett is a safety that could fit in along side JJ Wilcox in the secondary. While defensive tackle is a need, safety is as well. Matt Johnson who was drafted two years ago has yet to make a regular season contribution. He has been placed on injured reserve for the second straight year. Barry Church is more of an extra linebacker and less of a safety.
