2008 Cowboys Draft Day Hopefuls

Lee Pierce

With the Draft less than a month away I am getting a little anxious with the possibilities that are ahead of the cowboys. The Boys sent out a few pre-draft visits to a few prospects such as:

  • Oklahoma wide receiver Malcolm Kelly
  • Texas A&M tight end Martellus Bennett
  • Texas running back Jamaal Charles

Since these players are all From Big 12 schools I got to watch a lot of their college games. I have to say I am most impressed with Jamaal Charles. He would be a great addition to the Cowboys backfield helping out Marion The Barbarian.

On the Defensive side of the ball the Cowboys have sent out invitations to a few defensive backs, included in this list is Kansas’ Aqib Talib, Arizona’s Antoine Cason, Troy’s Leodis McKelvin, Indiana’s Tracy Porter and Tennessee State’s Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. I like what I saw out of McKelvin and Cromartie at the combine and I saw a lot of Talib this past year in the Big 12. I think any of these players could be a big help in the not so strong secondary from last year.
