The most valuable asset the Dallas Cowboys have this offseason is the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. With this pick, they should be guaranteed to come away with a top talent – even if they decide to trade down from the pick.
However, should they stay home at #4, will they come away with a talent that sees the field in 2016? Laquon Treadwell, Myles Jack, Joey Bosa, Laremy Tunsil and practically anyone else in this class would certainly walk into a starting spot for the Cowboys during training camp.
That leaves the QB position to be addressed, as the Cowboys could (and should) use the pick as a rare chance to bring in one of the draft’s best quarterback. Particularly, Jarred Goff out of California would be a terrific fit in the silver and blue.

Some of my main points towards selecting a quarterback included:
- The strength of the Cowboys in every other unit.
- The potential once-in-a-lifetime talent of Jarred Goff.
- The hope for the Cowboys to be out of the top 5 for the foreseeable draft future.
- The depth of other positions available in this draft and the Cowboys high picks to maximize on this depth.
RJ countered with a few of these points:
- Other teams surpassing the Cowboys by acquiring immediate first round impact talent.
- The Cowboys lack of talent at that linebacker, corner, and safety position.
- Late-round quarterbacks available for the Cowboys after the fourth overall pick.
