Alvin “Bud” Dupree played at both OLB and DE for Kentucky with his stout 6’4, 269lbs yet tremendously athletic frame.
- Ran an incredible 4.56 40 yard dash with a 1.60 10 yard split, 42 inch vertical, and 11’6 broad jump
- Dupree’s 40 only trailed Vic Beasley’s blazing 4.53 out of the top pass rushers
- His vertical was 2nd by half an inch of all DL/LBs, and his broad jump was 1 inch off Jamie Collins’ record of 11’7 in 2013. Obviously a freak athlete
He played in all 12 games as a freshman – starting in the final 3 – and he started in all but 1 of Kentucky’s next 36 games to record a total of 247 tackles in his 4 years. Dupree only missed the game vs. Alabama in his Junior year due to a strained pectoral. He recorded 6.5, 7, and 7.5 sacks his last 3 seasons.
This is a high character kid, nicknamed Bud for good reason. He’s very well liked and he works hard in the weight room as well as the film room.

Bud Dupree Went from 249 to 264lbs between his Junior and Senior years so he obviously has the type of frame to easily add weight. His athleticism flashes on tape, closes in a bolt, and he’s relentless when rushing the passer. Strength needs work, especially if he gets drafted by a 4-3 team.
Still a raw prospect, but with the right defensive coordinator could be special. He is at his best when he’s rushing the passer. Dupree is a high effort guy that appears to genuinely love the game of football. He’ll have a chance to only center on a single position so that he can really focus on honing a skill set. As a 4-3 DE, he obviously wouldn’t have to worry about dropping in coverage and can just get after the ball carrier.
With a coach like Rod Marinelli, Bud and DeMarcus Lawrence could be cornerstones for Dallas’ defensive line.
