This Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys will face the Denver Broncos in a battle of 1-0 teams. After the way both team’s played a week ago, it’s hard to imagine these two combining for over 70 points, or even breaking the over/under set around 50.
The last time these two met, however, 99 points were put on the board. In a match up between two potential Hall of Fame quarterbacks (yeah, I said that about Tony Romo) Dallas nearly shocked the world and pulled an upset over the AFC’s top dog.

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a great day, throwing for 414 yards on 32 completions while completing 78% of his passes. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo probably outplayed Manning, however, throwing for over 500 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Of course, everyone remembers Romo’s fourth quarter interception which all but sealed the game for Denver, but the fact Romo put on this performance against the unbeaten Broncos and future Super Bowl participants speaks for itself. I mean, how much blame can you put on a quarterback for a 51-48 loss?
This game sort of became a microcosm for Romo’s career. He did everything he could do, but one mistake combined with poor defensive play led him to fall short of victory in the end.
Let’s hope that this Sunday the Cowboys defense can keep Denver under 50 points, and Dak Prescott can avoid any costly turnovers which could change the game for the worse.
