Back on a one-year deal, guard Jonathan Cooper has rejoined the Dallas Cowboys – giving them yet another first round talent along the offensive line.
Cooper has hardly lived up to this draft status as the 7th overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2013, bouncing around to two other teams before ending up a free agent – released by the Cleveland Browns.
Former Cardinals and Patriots G Jonathan Cooper reached agreement with Cowboys on a one-year deal, per @toddarcher.

Cooper was added to the Cowboys at the end of the 2016 season for depth behind Ronald Leary and Joe Looney. His upside has brought him back to America’s Team with Leary now in Denver and La’el Collins ready to fill in for him at left guard.
Jonathan Cooper will remain a backup with the Cowboys for 2017 with the exception of another injury, but Dallas presents his best opportunity to turn his career around and display the talent that made him a top ten pick.

The Cowboys offensive line – even with the retirement of Doug Free – is already the best in the league, and now they’ve found an incredibly low-risk way to add depth to this unit with Jonathan Cooper.
Good signing adds depth. If he can live up to what people saw in him when he was drafted could make the best O line in the league even better. As it stands we now have 5 first round talents signed. I like it!!
